Happy Dollars

Mike is happy that his grandsons are doing great!

Sandi is so glad that the Rotary Booth at the Farmers' Market turned out so nice...She thanked Caryn, who put it together and everyone else that came to support Rotary.  That would be:  Julie Mason, Stan Davis, Richard Tomlinson, Diana Mason, Jim Pappenfus, Ron Quesada, Marlin Bryant, Mary Coniglio and Joanne Hodge, who helped out even though she had her own booth next to ours.

Joanne is glad to say her son is starting a summer job.

Announcements

Mike announced the Demotion Party on July 19th at his house in Discovery Bay.  He said there will be kereoke and plenty to drink...

There will be a board meeting this evening.

Speaker
Van DePiero

Van spoke about his two week vacation in Italy.  They spent one week in Tuscany and one week in Lake Como.   He talked about the traffic situation in Italy and how much he enjoyed driving there even though it was quite a challenge.  He said the driving in the city was a different story....it is completely out of control where even the parking rules are not adhered to.   Consequently he did a lot of walking in the cities.

Some of the cities they toured were Florence, Tuscany, Lake Como, Venice, Milan, and Bellagio where he said it was a wonderful place to shop.

They also went to Switzerland, and had lunch in St. Moritz which cost them around $500 for 4 people.  Hope it was good!

Van's views on his trip were both interesting and very entertaining.  Glad to have you back Van!

The greeter next week will be Diana.

Lunch

Hamburgers or Hot dogs with Potato Salad and Carrot Cake

See you all next week
