Announcements
President Bruce was
invited to go on a Delta jazz
cruise by the incoming District
Governor. Bruce informed the
incoming District Governor
that he would be willing to
continue as president of
Pittsburg Rotary for a second
term. The Club unanimously
supported and approved Bruce's
willingness to continue as
president. Bruce said the focus
on the incoming District
Governor will be on the Rotary
Foundation.
President Bruce said by
vote of the Board of Directors,
there is a policy change on
paying for lunch. On a guest's
first visit, guest or sponsor
pays. The second visit is free
and the club pays. On the third
visit, guest or sponsor pays.
This change discourages one-time
free lunches and encourages
those seriously interested in
joining to return for a second
and third visit.
President
Bruce said that the
restaurant is not tipping Sue,
our server, each week. The
Board of Directors voted to give
her a large gift at Christmas
to compensate for this loss of
income.
President
Bruce announced
that he had received the
$10,000 check from the
Keller Canyon Mitigation
Fund. He thanked Diana
Mason for obtaining the
grant to pay for the third
grade dictionaries.
Linda
Brewer announced that she had
revised and updated the
Pittsburg Rotary brochure and
copies were on all of the
tables. Thank you Linda for a
job well done!
Ron
Quesada announced that
the deadline for reserving space
for the Reno Train Trip was next
Tuesday. Only two people have
signed up to go this year. This
is the least we have ever had go
on the trip. Many members have
conflicts this year and are
unable to go.
There was no speaker
