     Speaker

  Steve Weir, County Clerk

To get our attention, Steve performed some Carnac the Great salty remarks a la Johnny Carson complete with headdress and cape.

He explained the pros and cons of booth voting and mail-in ballots.  CA will have two election dates, Feb. 5 presidential primary and some bond measures; and June 3 with everything else.  He said the primary was moved forward so that CA voters could have a say in the election along with the rest of the nation.  Since term limits will be on the ballot for the first election, having a second election will give office holders time to mount a campaign.  Steve said CoCo County has a higher propensity for voting than most urban and suburban communities.
